to celebrate mama bears fifty something birthday we headed to tunbridge wells. i had found a little place called juliets that looked perfect for a salad and cake lover in equal measures and it did not disappoint. the salads were quite ottenlenghi inspired, roasted parsnip, carrot and pink grapefruit was one i sampled, green cous cous, feta, tabbouleh was another plus 5 or so other options were on offer - all veggie which is great for us. the cakes were beauties, huge slices that did not feel heavy at all. exposed brick walls, cute artwork on the walls, vintage tea cups, saucers and teapots and pretty but simple leather bunting hung above us. the atmosphere was buzzy but relaxed.
we wandered around before and after lunch, it was so nice to explore somewhere new and to peruse some of the independent shops.
